As part of several organized programmes, UZH students can study abroad for a semester or two. There are different possibilities for a student exchange at the Department of History.
Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP, former ERASMUS)
As part of the SEMP programme, we have agreements for the subject history with 23 universities in 10 European countries.
Non-subject-specific agreements
UZH has currently student exchange agreements with 48 universities in 20 countries (e.g with universities in Argentina, Mexico, South Africa, Japan, and China). More information on studying outside Europe.
Self-organized study exchange
You can organize your stay individually. For more information and advice on how to proceed, please visit the webpage of the International Relations Office.
Student reviews
If you would like to get an incentive and personal testimonials about a specific university, you can read thereviews of former exchange students on UZH's mobility online portal.
History students also regularly publish their experiences abroad in the magazine etü. They are worth a read: Etü abroad (both platforms in German)
