Welcome to the AIncient Studies Lab!

Founded in 2024, the AIncient Studies Lab (AISL) at the Chair of Ancient History lead by Prof. Dr. Felix K. Maier (specializing in the history of Asia and Europe in the first millennium) bridges the gap between traditional historical research and the cutting-edge technology of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our mission is to explore the ancient world using modern techniques in automated text and image processing.
